Lucy - "Big Men in Tights"

Lucy -  Andrew's last post got me thinking about "Big Men in Tights", a wonderful wine from a favourite vineyard of mine named Bloodwood.
Before I knew Andrew & Gusband well, I served them at my restaurant. I would rub my hands together when I saw them coming I new I could get at least two bottles of Big Men drunk as well as a vodka or two. You have to love the upsell & lucky for me they love a good upsell as well. I swear their patronage kept us afloat for years. I should have known then we would become great friends.
It wasn't until after we sold the restaurant that we really were able to see Andrew & gusband on a social level.
Our first dinner together took us to Sydney town with friends to go to Tetsuya's Restaurant. Yes, fancy Tetsuya's, what an experience. I can't quite remember the exact amount, but the water bill I do believe cost around $90.00, yes folks for water, H2O, Aqua. We had such a great time, My most memorable thought is of Sawusband. He went to the toilet & when he returned a waiter came over to our table & offered him a glass of Grange, Yes "Penfolds, Grange". It had been sent over from a gentleman at another table. Apparently they struck up a conversation in the toilets, Sawusband was complaining about not having enough wine, & the gentleman saying he had not enough food.
I am still not sure what went on in the toilet, but he got a lovely glass of wine & thoroughly enjoyed it. (I was only allowed a sip - super jealous).
I am sure Andrew would have more to say on the subject of our first evening out, so I'll leave it to him..

"Meat & Fruit"- Andrew You have to love Meat & Fruit. What are we going to do with you?

Andrew - I have no idea what Sawusband had to do to get that glass of wine either and being a fly on that wall just sounds revolting, fancy restaurant or not. I actually thought the water bill was more expensive than that - what's Sawusband been going on about all these years? It was a wonderful first dinner together, although my memories of it are a little foggy.......
