While Lucy still lived close by (100m down the road "close by") there was no point in attempting to seriously give up since we were each others worst influence. I'd stop- she'd still smoke- I'd steal her smokes and around and around the circle would go. And then.......
We both stopped smoking...... and better than that, the four of us spent 4 days together and nobody smoked!!!! You may not think this is such an amazing feat but even the boys were suitably impressed. We won't discuss our alcohol consumption that long weekend however.
So even though I know I will always be a smoker, I keep congratulating myself for not sticking one in my gob. I would never say "I'll never have another cigarette" but as we flip the calendar over I'm patting myself on the back and celebrating my 1 month anniversary.
Fingers crossed Italy isn't our undoing........
Enjoy your day campers xx
Lucy - Who's a chimney.... you're a chimney!!! Ok we are both recovering smokaholics.
Lighting fires.
Does Lighting Fires have anything to with smoking? Of course it does, anything & everything has to do with smoking (if you ask a smoker).
This has made me think about us hiding our smoking around fires.
I'm sure Andrew would tell you all that we love a good fire & that we are the best fire lighters in the world.
If you ask sawusband he would have a very different view on the subject, but that is another blog entirely.
To whet your appetite here is a photo of our last fire lighting episode(I must add, this fire was lit in the height of summer, January, 2011 to be precise)
Andrew you look so proud of our fire
My ass nearly blocks the view of the fire in this one!
No wonder they were proud of on this trip, we didn't even try to smoke around this fabulous fire. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Italy as well.
There is no doubt in my mind, that when Drew and Lucy get to Italy together, they will both go up in smoke once again
