Andrew - I know they say that men can’t do 2 things at once. I thought that only applied to straight men, I thought I was not included in that category. Turns out I am included, while texting P-Mac today I managed to fall in a hole. Not a hole big enough for me to sprain my ankle or anything but large enough to throw me off balance and make me drop my phone.
I know there are some people out there who can barely chew gum and walk at the same time but I never thought I was one of them. Perhaps I’ve been deluding myself. I think it stems back from my university days when I was very busy in the car. I used to be able to smoke, talk on the phone, drink (not alcohol obviously) all while changing gears. Ah the good old days of multitasking.
Today I received a text message, email and Facebook friend request all at the same time. Very nearly did my head in.
Parents are the group of people who amaze me, especially ones with small kids. If I had a child under my arm I can guarantee I wouldn’t get anything done. There would be no texting, Facebook or email replying. I’d have to become a hermit and have things delivered to the house.
I can't even stand up and nurse a baby |
And some people have more than one child! Absolute madness!
My sister has 3 beautiful boys. She's clearly a time managing genius! |
I’ve already got a list a page long for the trip we are taking in 3 weeks and I only have the 2 fur kids to get sorted.
To all you campers out there with kiddies, more power to you. Meanwhile I’ve got a list to “action”. Oh God was that someone texting me? xx
Lucy - Yes, that was me texting you!
I totally agree that now I am older my ability to do more than one thing at a time is becoming limited. When I was a wee poppet I was forever doing a few things at once. Now I can't even drive the car & talk on the phone! Apart from the fact that it is extremely dangerous, I actually can't do it & always have to pull over. I would like to point out a fun fact the police know. If you do have to talk on the phone & pull over, don't forget to turn off the car & take the keys out of the ignition. Yes the ignition, because if you get caught you will get a ticket for talking on the phone....I know it sounds crazy but apparently true.
I also fell down a hole the other day. I however wasn't on the phone, I was walking the dog around the corner for my mandatory afternoon bevy.
Sawusband on the other hand has the uncanny ability to read the newspaper & watch TV (especially his footy shows) at the same time. If I change the channel I hear "I was watching that" & I reply with "how can you watch TV & read the newspaper at the same time". I am sure he says something about being special....I can't quite remember, I have definitely switched off by then. I guess this is like the special quality he also has when driving the car. I don't know many others who can drive a car as well, whilst gazing out the windows.
As far as our trip goes, I have not started my planning yet. I know I also have a lot to sort out. I had better get started. I really should have started planning my outfits.
To all our campers with children. I know you are very busy & are always multi tasking. Actually I can't imagine them having the time to read our crap!! Anywho, If any of you do find the time, like Andrew said, more power to you!

Notice how Henry is trying to eat my only nephew.
While my sister is obviously multi tasking to save her son.
Nice save!
