Andrew – Well the shoppers have gone out on an excursion today and left me with my book in the hotel and a view to die for. There is something amazingly romantic about sitting and watching the people of Venice stroll by. Not to mention the thousands of tourists wandering around with map and guidebook under their arms.
The hotel www.casagredohotel.com is beautiful and set right on the water, so campers you can understand the appeal of sitting and people watching even for just a few hours. People watching – my favourite pastime.
The shoppers have been quite reserved at this point which could possibly lead to a major blowout at some point soon.
The Shoppers preparing themselves for a spree |
P.S - The spree has begun... Prada & Bally & Gucci.... Oh my!
Lucy - Oh My God!!! Is what you mean, Doesn't matter It's only money (Sawusband don't worry it wasn't me).
So I still haven't grasped the Italian language very well, @ breakfast I was asked if I wanted another coffee to which I replied Si, No, Grazie which means, Yes followed by No!! then thanks, not very helpful....
Gusband & I have been tripping around while Andrew recharges his batteries. We have been to Burano followed by Murano to see some famous Murano glass.
Gusband & I had some time to spare while waiting for a Ferry so we decided to check out this store... turns out it was a funeral home...Opps, but they had some nice coffins.
Gusband on the island of Burano (they are known for there lace as well as unmentionables hung on clothes lines)
Murano
After our shopping spree we relaxed with a Vodka in the restaurant bar. Not a bad view of the main canal if I do say so myself.
a random picture of a lady dressed from head to toe in purple. She even had a purple suitcase to match her purple hair & purple clothes.
Next went out for dinner to the oldest Restaurant in Venice
Evening as we crossed the Grand Canal
The oldest Restaurant in Venice (also the crapiest)
Next day off to the Peggy Gugenheim Collection
This was a little interesting...
