Who's a bogan villia?

Andrew – So of course we went to dinner. Yes campers another Italian meal but this one was one that should never be missed should you come to Positano. For 35 euros they picked us up from our hotel and dropped us back And as our friend JoJo would say Oh My and God as far as the food goes. I’ll let Lucy’s photos do the talking.

Having lunch today we got to see a whole lot of men wandering around with their shirts off. Why is it that the people who should have their gear off are the ones fully clothed? Yet the man with the hairy back decided to get his shirt off… sweet Jesus this man could have fixed our hedge with the massive bush growing from his shoulders. Hairdgehog  we decided to call him. Turns out nothing changes wherever you go.

Funniest quote today was Gusband saying to Lucy, “Pose like a model, no like a model, no like a model, ok just stand there then.” Totes hilar!

Ciao. Off to Roma... xxx

Lucy - So True So True... The food, there was not only a mountain of it to get through but it was made by the Mamma & the Pappa, so it was fantastic.
35 Euros for so much food, wine, desert, lemoncello & transfers. super value.

We were so high up

the entrance

I hope were hungry

it just kept coming

& coming

& then there was the pasta course

followed by the salad course

followed by the meat course

as well as desert

This is a must for anyone tripping to Positano, we could have stayed for about one more hour & then left satisfied, when the bus arrived to take us home we just weren't ready as you can see, the party was just getting started.

Let there be Lemoncello....

Mamma (didn't believe in shaving underarms)

Andrew (same underarm situation as Mamma)

Let dancing begin.....

So you see campers we really were just getting into the swing of things.

Oh & by the way there a lot of Bougainvilleas growing here, so of course our silly talk turned to, Who's a Bogan Villea? You Are....& so on. In fact it is still going.

Blinded By The Light

Lucy - I had been up early this morning to catch Sawusband on skype. Our room is carved out of the side of the hill; it’s really like a cave in that way. It is rather cool during the day & at night i’m feeling a little chilly (on the willy, if I had a willy to speak of), it would be fabulous in the super heat of summer.
You wouldn’t think that it is cold at all if you asked Andrew & Gusband who have the air-conditioning set on high 24/7. They’re crazy Mofo’s.
Anyway I digress, it was cold & pitch black inside our cave with all doors closed. I stumbled around trying to find a jacket & grabbed the computer to head outside (which is the only spot you can get internet connection). It was 6.30am when I opened the door I nearly killed myself as I went from the pitch black to being absolutely blinded by the burning hot sun!!! Turns out living in a cave can be deceiving…. Just when you think it’s very early in the morning, the sun will hardly be in the sky yet & it’s cold. When really the sun has apparently been up for hours, it’s burning bright & blinding me, it was at that point I realized I needed sunglasses stat & to get that stupid coat off.
the step where I sit while on skype

When I retold the tale to Andrew & Gusband, Andrew broke out in the song "Blinded by the Light" which he has been prone to do all trip. Thus far we have had "My name is Luka" while in Lucca, we had a revamped version of his 1st communion song while visiting the church here in Positano. I could go on & on & on but time is short & the list is long.....
outside the church where Andrew broke into song..

After my wee chat it was decided that cereal was in order for breakfast. We had been shopping previously for supplies. I grabbed out a bowl, poured in a few flakes & grabbed out the milk, gave it a pour, seems a little interesting, a little thick you might say…..Turns out the milk was not milk at all, it was cream. I thought don’t worry just add a little water to the mix it will be fine. Turns out its not fine, just creamy water really. This might not be the best start to my day. How about some toast instead.

Last night we went to another Restaurant called Mediteraneo. There was live music (a dude playing his guitar.

Prosecco to start

The music man

The host, Lorenzo.

I have no timing, it is beyond me why ended up with the tambourine

the night is coming along swimmingly

getting a little silly....

Yes definitely a little silly...

But then everyone was getting a little silly

Off home to bed before a new day. Our time here is starting to rush by, not many days left.

Now it is a new day....

It has been decided that today is a day of rest…. Actually Andrew decided this which translated means he is sick of walking down the stairs & wants to finish his book, which I might add is about Vampires & Witches (& we all know he laughs at the people sucked in by all the Vampire hype @ the moment) He admitted it was getting good so I doubt we will be seeing him today. Never fear I think Gusband I shall make the trek down, we have spotted a few ceramic shops, which may be in need of us dropping a few pennies in their tills.
Keep you posted Campers.

Andrew - What are you talking about? I love to exercise.... it's my body that isn't too fussed. Yes I am spending the morning reading while you both head to the shops. It's the view, it's got me sucked in completely. I think if I had this view to wake up to every morning I wouldn't be able to go to work.

I won't rehash your recount of the last few days but I will say this..... I think it is very important for our friendship that you have now heard my First Holy Communion song. "Today is my day. A very special day for me......" Not to mention all the other ones I've been driving you both crazy singing.

All together now campers. "My name is Luka, I live on the second floor." xx
Andrew – So we went and we barbequed and we drank and possibly got a little bit drunk.

An Italian barbeque is not like an Australian one let me tell you. There was antipasti to die for and cheese! Ate so much cheese we should be clogged up the wazoo for weeks. I guess it helps if your new Italian friends own a delicatessan/ butcher shop.

Having done the tour of the deli earlier in the day it was amazing to sit and have a seriously hot Italian show off his wares (so to speak).

Note : I am not down with meeting strangers, in fact sometimes I think that maybe my subconscious thinks I have enough friends and that is why I get iffy meeting new people. However when you get home at 2am I guess things have gone smashingly.

Starting to get a little messy.

An 11am wake up with a splitting headache meant nurofen stat! Followed by lots and lots of water. Holy Moly I am too old for this caper. I wonder when I forgot I wasn’t 18 anymore.

Nothing to do but head for the beach to catch the boat to Da Adolfo, for some lunch and needless to say more vino. Nothing beats a hot shirtless Italian boat driver when you are in need of a distraction from your brain trying to separate from your skull.
Unfortunately hot Italian boat driver has put his shirt back on.
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!

Lunch was fabulous although it was a bit cool to swim…. Lucky really considering my fear of the beach (not the beach as such, just sharks) even though Vincenzo said I had one in a billion chance of being taken by a shark here. Not so trusting of his English just yet though.

More food tonight and more fucking stairs. Lucky we are coming home to cold weather – at least we can wrap some layers over my ever expanding gizzard. No idea why all this exercise isn’t shifting any weight!

Fatty, fat, fat from Positano campers. xx

LucyToday, actually scrap that. The last 24 hours would have some of my favourite experiences this entire trip. A tour through the streets with our new best friend Christine, told us a lot about the history of Positano.

The BBQ last night was not cancelled therefore we were out partying until 2am….. Yes campers, apparently we haven’t lost it yet, actually, come to think of it, we never really had it!  Anywho a partying we went on this fine Positano night.

Our hosts were fabulous & we experienced a real Italian evening out. The FOOD….Holy Shitmoley, THE FOOD. It just kept on coming & coming & coming…..Who were we to argue….. Just eat I kept thinking, we all know I’m good at eating…take one for the team, eat til you burst.

Our hosts Christine & Vincenzo were fabulous. The wine, the food & the company were amazing. I could live this way of life all the time. Siesta followed by family/friend gatherings at night, til late, are a fabulous way to live.

When I woke up early this morning to chat to Sawusband, I had had approximately 4 hours sleep…. Still able to hold a conversation, well maybe he should be the judge of that, we spoke for quite a while before I headed back for a nap.

Today we ventured to a little cove & had a most fantastic lunch. It was so rustic and family oriented. The food was divine. We dined on a seafood extravaganza of Octopus, prawns, salmon, tuna, mussels, sardines I could go on but that would just be bragging.
We sat on stones which is their sand, totally loved the atmosphere.

The view

The Menu

Looks awful....not!!

A local man who caught mussels off the rocks nearby for the restaurant, someone will be eating them shortly, no doubt.

Yes it was bit overcast for a swim today. A real shame as I have been dying to get my feet more than a little wet.

Farewell to our little cove.

& to my mother who thinks we are slack by not walking up & down.... It takes 30mins to walk down to town, we timed it today.

Our Villa is approximately where the mast meets the top of the ladies head. It is a long way to the main beach from there.
Another Bevy must be in order.

Not sure why I'm laughing, I think Gusband was being mean to me...as always.
Lunch was grand, I could do it everyday if asked.

I don’t think I have mentioned the silence, ahhh it is so peaceful in our Villa I could stay sitting on our deck forever. But alas the food as per usual is calling us, we must dine out again this evening. Tomorrow night we will be venturing to a locals hangout for some very special entertainment.

Fear not Campers, we will keep you posted of what unfolds in the final days of our Italian holiday.
