Stand Up Paddle Boarding Anyone? "don't mind if I do"

Lucy - Yes campers, I just had my first taste of Stand up Paddle boarding.
 The store
Board selection
The boards are surprisingly light.

When asked by my adopted sister Miss Shelley if I wanted to try Stand up paddle, I was very excited & was ready to jump at the prospect.
But a few worrying questions popped into my mind.
Will I be able to balance myself?
Will the sharks think I'm a giant seal?
Will they make me go out into the middle of the Gold Coast Broadwater & leave me there?
If I fall off will I be able to lift myself back on?

The verdict:  After I got over the thought of sharks knocking me off the board & nipping at my feet.... I loved it!!!! It was quiet & calm, you could take in all the surroundings.
Its my workout dream...exercise when you don't feel like your actually exercising. I do however think I'll be very sore tomorrow....there were a whole lot of muscles I'm sure I did not know existed that will be punishing me in the coming days!

I will definitely be taking Sawusband out for a spin around the Broadwater. He will love it....It will take a while to get over the glare of his very white complexion from working underground. On the bright side at least if we get into trouble the white beam of light will be a beacon for rescuers!

Steve our teacher was very friendly & I felt safe which was important to me. It was really quite cheap to hire boards, the cost for our lesson was $40 for 1Hr session & if we just want to hire a board it will be $20 p/hr.
I don't know if crazy Henry would be able to go, although he is a good swimmer

you probably guessed this is not me!

I know Andrew will love it as well, he so keen on Ocean swimming.
I'll save you & Gusband a paddle for when you get here!

Happy SUP (standup paddle) to all. If you get a chance to go, it's Lots O Fun.
